In Metroid Dread, Samus controls better than she has in any previous game. She moves fluidly and retains all of her movement repertoire from games like Metroid: Zero Mission, Samus Returns, and Super Metroid. One major exception to this is standard single wall jumping, although this technique is possible with the blue magnetic walls once the Spider Magnet has been acquired. It is also possible with a complex sequence of morphing and unmorphing.
Below is a brief list of the majority of the movement techniques found in the game and how to use them in a speedrun.
