Once you exit, keep running at full speed, make a short Speed Booster jump to the platform above you, blast through the Dredhead and wall jump off the wall to the right to go to the left. Run up the hill past the Dropter, slide under the wall at Speed Booster speed to reach the next room, Boost into the next Dredhead and quickly wall jump to the left and bounce back and forth between the walls until you reach another Dredhead. Take this one out with the Speed Booster and make one final wall jump off the right hand wall to collide with a set of Speed Booster blocks hiding a Missile+ Tank (065/275). Hit Down on the L Stick as soon as you grab this to store your Shinespark, then slide off of the ledge to the right and Flash Shift left to grab the small ledge below you. Morph into the tunnel and set Bombs to expose a path leading up, then jump up to the top of the room and quickly Shinespark horizontally into the incline to retain Speed Booster velocity. Run into the E.M.M.I. Zone portal to the end and store another Shinespark, then morph and Ballspark vertically (Ballsparking cuts out the "fancy" Shinespark cutscene) to blast through all of the Speed Booster blocks to reach the top of the room. Once you're finished, drop down and hold Left to land on a ledge with an Energy Tank (05/12), then climb back up and take the door at the top right.
In here, move to the right, slide under the low wall and take out the Armadigger in front of you, then head up and left to the block with the red blob. Destroy it and go up, then right and charge the Speed Booster to break the wall in front of you. Now continue running to the right while charging up the Speed Booster to break the wall in front of you, press Down to store your Shinespark, then quickly head down and to the right via the Morph Ball tunnel to exit the E.M.M.I. Zone back to the main area of Dairon. Once you get in here, spin jump to the right and quickly press B, Y, and Right on the L Stick to horizontally Shinespark all the way across the room to crash into a small outcropping. Quickly hold right on the L Stick to grab the ledge, then pick up the Missile Tank (067/275). Drop and Flash Shift three times back across to your starting point, go back to the previous room and then climb back up through the Morph Ball tunnel. Start running to the right while charging the Speed Booster now and you should hit maximum velocity just before the large wall in front of you. Jump up twice to the platform above the sensor platform and continue running at full speed to make a Speed Booster jump to barely collide with the Speed Booster blocks covering an E.M.M.I. Zone exit. You want to blast these blocks apart but still take the bottom exit out of the Zone.
Cross the room to the door on the right just below the Wide Beam Box and continue running while charging the Speed Booster through the Save Room. Press Down to store a Shinespark in the next room, mount the slight elevated area in the floor past the Chozo Recharge Statue, then vertically Shinespark up through the Speed Booster blocks above you and hold Left to land next to your ext Missile Tank (069/275). Now go back the way you came and take the top E.M.M.I. Zone exit and proceed to the right to the Grapple Block. Move it with the Grapple Beam and continue up and to the left to reach an elevator leading to Ferenia.
Once you arrive in this Chozo city, head to the left and start running to the right to charge up the Speed Booster. Store your Shinespark right inside the room, then wall jump up and use the Flash Shift again to stall yourself in the air so you can reach the Morph Ball tunnel and roll through. Once on the other side, straighten out with B+Y and press Up to Shinespark vertically to the top of the room, so you can reach a Morph Ball tunnel that leads to some Bomb blocks. Blow these apart and roll to the Energy Part (1/4), then roll left and fall through the Pitfall Blocks. Head into the next room and fire at the Yojimbee swarm above you, then use the Grapple Beam block in the ceiling to swing to the platform with the portal to a brand new E.M.M.I. Zone.
Take out the Autool here and Flash Shift past the sensor lock door ahead of you. There is only one path to take here, and that's through the floor. The ensuing cutscene takes you out of the E.M.M.I. Zone.
In this exposition-heavy part, you would come face to face with the E.M.M.I. that guards Ferenia (E.M.M.I.-06WB), get saved by the Thoha Chozo named Quiet Robe and learn all about the reasons you're here on ZDR, get a positively badass line of dialogue from Samus Aran before watching Quiet Robe get struck down by the next mini-boss. But this is a speedrun, so skip the cutscene and you will transition rooms to the left and go right to the next fight.
You'll face two of these in the game; the second time will be in Ghavoran and the same strategy will apply then, except that the second Robot Chozo will be gold and it has more health and is a little more aggressive. At the start, Flash Shift over its head and lure it to the upper ledges. While it is up there, drop to the bottom and run along the ground to charge up the Speed Booster. Store a Shinespark and rocket forward into the Chozo Robot when it drops back down to the bottom to engage you. Repeat this strategy a second time to kill it extremely fast. If you can't pull off the Shinesparks, you can just Flash Shift over the Chozo Robot's head and keep on hitting it with Missiles. Eventually you'll overload the Robot and it will explode.
After the Chozo Robot's destruction, head through the door to the right, go up to the central platform and use the Grapple Beam to grab the Spider Magnet wall at the upper left. Morph into the tunnel to reach the next room, where you'll encounter another fan blowing wind like the one you saw a little bit ago in Burenia. Run to the left charging up the Speed Booster to go faster than the wind, and you're going to do another Speed Booster puzzle. At the end, jump up to the left and wall jump back and forth up to the top. Make another wall jump flying to the left and press Down to store a Shinespark as you hit the ground. Morph into the small tunnel and then press B and hold the L Stick down-right to Ballspark diagonally into the small nook that holds a Missile+ Tank (081/275). Once you grab it, roll left to fall through the Pitfall Blocks and take the door to the left to reach an elevator leading back to Dairon.
Once you arrive back here, head to the right to reach a Network Station, and mash past Adam's briefing about Quiet Robe and directions to Burenia. Leave the Network Station via the door to your left, and use a charged shot to move the Wide Beam Box out of your way, then continue down to the left using the Flash Shift to move faster. Enter the E.M.M.I. Zone, drop down and head to the left to reach a Morph Ball tunnel at the very end. Drop down it, then take the Power Beam door to the left. Jump up and Flash Shift three times to the left to get all the way across the next room, then drop down and wind around to the Power Beam door near the bottom. Jump up towards the side that the E.M.M.I. exit is on, but drop down instead and take the Power Beam door at the bottom. Slide under the Dredhead in the next room, then go up and to the right and charge the Speed Booster to run right and crash through the Speed Booster blocks to reach a Missile Tank (083/275). Flash Shift back the way you came to the previous room, then drop down below you and take the Morph Ball tunnel to the left. Drop into this room, Melee Counter the Armadigger below you and keep making your way down to the bottom left of this room. In here, drop down again while heading left, then climb the Spider Magnet wall and wall jump up to the E.M.M.I. Zone exit back out into the rocky/watery area of Dairon.
Take the same path through this area as you did the first time you were going through here to Burenia, this time Flash Shifting past the Nailongs and the Dredheads to reach the path to the shuttle at the bottom.
Now that you're back in Burenia, you are going to follow basically the same path that you did the first time. Head to the left out of the shuttle area, drop down and destroy the Rodotuk, then drop down into where the fan is. Use the Speed Booster to run against the wind to get the Energy Part (2/4) that is right in the path, then jump up and over the ledge in front of you, blasting through the wall to reach the Power Beam door below you. This takes you to the long room with the Nailong and the Shelmit, but you can Speed Boost past them this time. Wall jump off the wall at Speed Booster speed here and head to the right, then quickly jump and hit ZL for a Morph Jump to slide right into the Morph Ball tunnel and keep going at full speed. Unmorph at the end and wall jump off the right-hand wall, then turn and speed to the left to reach the now-open path at the upper left. Take the door here and charge up the Speed Booster again to fly through the Map Station out to a new outside area of Burenia. There are two Slaagas to contend with here, but you can easily destroy them with the Speed Booster. Climb to the top here by using the Grapple Beam to grab on to the Spider Magnet wall, then turn left fire two Missiles at the wall to expose a path and Flash Shift past the sensor gate to grab the wall and roll into the small nook to grab the Missile+ Tank (093/275). Fall down through the Pitfall Blocks and Flash Shift to the right and use the Grapple Beam to open up a Grapple Door.
Flash Shift through this area to get past the Shelmit in the ceiling, then slide under a low wall to reach another hallway. Flash Shift past this next Shelmit and use the Grapple Beam again on a door, and this takes you out to a staggered platform area. Take out the Grapple Block at the bottom left, then roll into the tunnel to reach the other side of the large central room again. Go to the upper left corner of this structure here and set a Bomb to reveal a hidden Missile Tank (095/275), then go back the way you came in through the Morph Ball tunnel to reach the room you were just in. This time head to the right past the Shelmit and destroy the Slaagas in your way as you climb up the ledges to the top. The main path here leads to the battle with Drogyga, who lives up to his reputation as the Spore Spawn of this game, because he gets completely skipped. Get up to the top of the room by the Chozo Recharge statue and you'll need to execute another Pseudowave trick to fire through the wall in order to blow up a red blob on the other side. To do this Pseudowave, you'll need to practice and perfect a fast method known as the DT (Double-Turn) Slide. With this method, there's no technical explanation as to why it works, so just try to follow along. To do a DT slide, you must start very close to the wall, probably a footstep or two away to be precise. You slide, clip into the wall, then rock the L Stick backward and forward to make Samus quickly turn, then release the charge shot. You should really try to execute the spin at the same time that you're sliding, rather than sliding and then spinning. Think of it like a Slide Jump, where you jump to cancel a slide, and you want to do the same thing here where you'll spin in order to cancel the slide. Once you have the mechanics for this worked down, start at the left-hand wall just a little bit away, and DT Slide towards the wall, spin, and fire your charge shot. It may take one or two tries to get the beam shot to travel correctly through the wall, but if you do it right, you'll blow up the red blob and expose a Morph Ball passage leading left.
Once you've successfully pulled off the Pseudowave trick, head through the Morph Ball tunnel and take another tunnel to the left to drop into a room with Pitfall Blocks. Fall down and jump into the small narrow set of tunnels to grab the Missile Tank (097/275) here, then head left, wall jump up the wall and Flash Shift three times to cross the Pitfall Blocks back to the room you were in. Now use the Grapple Beam to latch onto Spider Magnet walls above you, and climb past the Nailongs and Pitfall Blocks at the very top to reach solid ground. Blast through the red blob in the ceiling above you to clear the path to an elevator that will take you to Ghavoran.
As you step off the elevator in Ghavoran, head right and use your Grapple Beam to open the Grapple door here. Back up a short way and then run to the right while charging up the Speed Booster. Store your Shinespark just inside the door, then drop into the water while firing a Missile at the wall to the left to destroy a Missile Block, then quickly horizontally Shinespark to the left to grab the ledge so you can pick up the Missile Tank (099/275). Roll out and climb out of the water, then use the Grapple Beam to latch onto a Spider Magnet ceiling above you. Climb up and pull the Grapple Block down into the space you were just in, then use the top Morph Ball passage to get up to the upper area. At the left, you'll square off against a Yampa; Melee Counter it quickly to avoid its agile leaping attack, then use the long runway here to open the door and run through to the left while charging up the Speed Booster. Store the Shinespark just inside and head to the left to initiate a mini-boss fight.
This second Chozo Robot has more health than the last one, but its attacks are pretty much the same. At the start here, jump to the level that it is on and unleash your Shinespark right into its body. From here, engage it at this level just pounding away with Missiles and Flash Shifting over its head to avoid the majority of its attacks. Watch for the one where you can Melee Counter and you'll stun it for a few seconds, allowing you to get a lot of good damage in with Missiles. Keep blasting away at it to take it down.
After the Chozo Robot's destruction, you can proceed through the door to the left. In this next room, slide under the low wall in front of you and Bomb through the floor to access a path underneath you. Navigate the Morph Ball maze and head left, shooting through the floor at the end to access another set of tunnels. Slide out of the narrow passage here, Flash Shift in the air back and forth to stall yourself so you can cling to the edge, then jump out and Flash Shift three times to the right to grab another ledge with a Missile Tank (101/275). There are a ton of Pitfall Blocks underneath you, so roll to the edge, grab it, jump and Flash Shift back three times to get to where you started. Go back up the series of tunnels to the door just after where you fought the Chozo Robot and use the Grapple Beam to climb to the top of the Spider Magnet ceiling. Avoid the wall-dwelling Scourge on the way up and get to the E.M.M.I. portal at the top.
You have nothing to fear in this area for now, as E.M.M.I.-05IM is still deactivated. You'll even see it in a little alcove as you make your way down through this area. For now, jump to the left and ride the Spider Magnet rail up to the top, then head right and Flash Shift to the other side of the room. Drop down, slide under the wall, drop down again and shoot through part of the wall to the left, then roll through and drop all the way to the bottom. Head to the right here to the Zone exit at the bottom right.
This next room has a Fing swarm at the top and a Muzby at the bottom. Just spin jump towards the Muzby and Flash Shift over its head to avoid dealing with either enemy and take the door at the top right to reach a Network Station. Mash past Adam's briefing about literally nothing and continue on via the door to the right. In this room you'll see your first Enky barrier at the top right. Head down past the Scourge and slide left to trigger the flipper platform, then continue on your way down. Roll into the Morph Ball passage here and drag down the Spider Magnet platform on the other side. Roll through another tunnel into a short passage with a Scourge and a Yampa and take the next tunnel to the right to reach a large open room with a floating Hecathon. These whale-like creatures float and can catch you with a stream of purple poison, so avoid them. Slide down to a small area here with a Grapple Block and destroy it to reach a Missile Tank (103/275), then return to the room you were just in. Now Bomb through the floor here and drop all the way down to where the Missile Door is, avoid the Quetzoa down here and head inside to reach a Chozo Statue that holds the Super Missile upgrade.
Exit the room the way you came, still avoid the Quetzoa and go back up to the room above you. You can now use a Super Missile to shatter the green shield on the door to your left, so head inside and use an Infinite Bomb Jump to reach the Morph Ball tunnel at the top of the room. To make it easier, you can jump, morph, set a Bomb, then jump and morph into the Bomb itself. Roll inside and navigate the small section of tunnels here to grab the Missile+ Tank (113/275), then go back to where you came and go through the door to the left. This places you back near where you started out in Ghavoran right near another Super Missile Door, so use the Morph Ball tunnel to get up to where it is and head through it. Take out the Fing swarm above you here, and Grapple up to the ceiling, then head through the Morph Ball passage to get to the other side. Jump up to the left and use the Morph Ball Launcher to shoot through the pipe, then drop down and take the Super Missile door at the bottom right to reach another large room with a Hecathon, Fings, and Yampas. Jump up and Flash Shift all the way to the right and take the door to reach a shuttle platform that leads to Elun.
Elun will be a very short segment, but it is where you unleash the X-Parasite force across ZDR and the game ramps up a bit in its difficulty. Starting from the shuttle platform, Speed Boost to the right until you reach a cutscene you can skip, then continue going to the right. You can't go through the green-shielded door, so Bomb a path through the floor and head down to the left to reach a Morph Ball Launcher. Use it to go down and around to the right, then blast the red blob in the ceiling above you to open a new path. Jump up and take the right-hand path up all the way to the Power Beam door at the top. Just inside is a cutscene introducing an X-infected Chozo called a Chozo Zombie. These shuffle along the ground in puddles of black goo, but can easily be Melee Countered. Skip this cutscene here and witness the release of the X-Parasites, then continue heading down while engaging the Rodomithon-X's that are littering the walls to reach the Power Beam door at the bottom right corner. You'll reach a room with a fan below you, jump down to it, go down two levels and destroy both the Chozo Zombie and the Gooshocker, then jump back up to the fan and charge up the Speed Booster against the wind from the fan. Once you're at full speed, store your Shinespark and go back down two levels and use your Shinespark against the far left wall to expose a path to the Missile Tank (115/275). Continue down, Melee Counter the Chozo Zombie and blast a hole in the wall behind it, then use the Morph Ball Launcher to send you on a path directly to another Missile Door. Head inside and shoot through the ceiling to reach a Chozo Statue that holds the Plasma Beam upgrade.
Exit the room via the Plasma Beam Door to your left and continue your ascent up the right-hand wall, avoiding the multiple Autsnipers and Spittails on the wall. Take the door at the top to reach the first Chozo Zombie again, kill it or jump over it, then take the Plasma Beam door on the right. This next room is filled with multiple Rodomithon-X creatures that stick to walls and blast large jets of flame. Get past the first few and continue your ascent up the right-hand side, using the Grapple Beam to latch onto the Spider Magnet wall. Take the path up to the left, then slide through the tunnels to reach a door covered by a Gobbler. Get up close and Melee Counter it for a ton of refills, then head inside for the boss fight.
You will face two of these fights during the game; the second time will be in Ghavoran and the same basic strategy will apply then. The Chozo Soldiers can hit extremely hard and direct contact should be avoided. They have a few attacks that are relatively easy to dodge with the Flash Shift, and as a general rule, if the Chozo Soldier is on the ground, you should wall jump followed by Flash Shift to go over it (this also ensures that you can't be struck by the Chozo Soldier's spinning staff); if the Soldier is in the air or on the wall, then use Flash Shift to go under it. All the while you need to be letting loose at every opportunity with Beams and Missiles. Plasma Beam fire does faster damage per second if you can rapid-fire enough, but otherwise Missiles are the preferred method. When the Chozo Soldier is on the wall, it can leap into the center of the room and strike directly down on the floor, so make sure you aren't Flash Shifting underneath it when it happens or else you'll take significant damage.
After you have inflicted enough damage, the Chozo Soldier will reveal that it has been infected by an X-Parasite. In this phase the Chozo Soldier is a little faster and has a jumping attack where it will leap from a wall and strike downward in the center of the room, creating a wave of toxic sludge that causes a lot of damage if you get hit by it. You can dodge it by using a wall jump and continuing to unload Plasma Beam fire and Missiles. When this phase ends, you will get a short cutscene with a QTE. To win, you must successfully finish this two-part Melee Counter event. Hit X when you see the flash to counter the lateral slash, then a second time to counter the vertical slash. When you get both counters, Samus will force the Chozo-X to the ground, force the creature's mouth open and fire a blast that ends the battle.
Defeating any boss or mini-boss from here yields a red X-Parasite after the fight that restores 50 Missiles and 500 HP. Quickly absorb the X-Parasite and continue on through the door to the left. Run at Speed Booster speed and fire diagonally up to the right to blast away part of the ceiling and expose a path, then jump and wall jump off to the right to grab the edge of the Morph Ball passage. Bomb the rest of the wall away to reach the Energy Tank (06/12), then drop down and take the door on the left that leads towards the exit to Elun. A cutscene will take over that you can skip where you see the X unleashed across the planet, so sigh your wistful sigh and charge up the Speed Booster to run left all the way back to the shuttle. You'll even take out another Chozo Zombie along the way. Get back to the shuttle pad and board it to return to Ghavoran. Along the way, skip the cutscene where the X infect the corpse of Quiet Robe and turn him into an X host that reactivates the remaining E.M.M.I.
From the shuttle, head to the left and charge up the Speed Booster. Store the Shinespark and open the Grapple Door, then head inside and wall jump off of the right-hand wall. Straighten out at the apex of the second jump and press B, Y, and Left on the L Stick to Shinespark horizontally to the other side of the room to destroy the Speed Booster blocks and collect the hidden Missile Tank (117/275). Drop down and head through the door below you to reach the Network Station where Adam will brief you about the spreading X infestation across the planet. Leave the room and continue heading to the left to return to an E.M.M.I. portal. Now they've been reactivated, so you'll have to deal with them all over again.
Getting through this E.M.M.I. Zone optimally can be a little tricky because of the spawn points that E.M.M.I. can appear in; one of them ends up being nearly right in your path. Start by Speed Boosting into this room, wall jump off the left-hand wall and continue right down the runway, jump and morph into the small tunnel, unmorph and wall jump off of the right-hand wall, then use alternating wall jumps to climb up the middle path. This is the main area where E.M.M.I.-05IM can spawn, either in the vertical passage itself or at the top near where you'll land. Try to see where the E.M.M.I. is, if it is here, and change angles and trajectories of your wall jumps to get over or around it. The general idea here is to get to the upper right and the Plasma Beam door here as quickly as possible. Once you're at the top and through the door, Flash Shift down, spin jump out over the pool of water, and then you can use a long Grapple Beam technique to grab the Spider Magnet ceiling above you. If you have trouble with the Grapple, you can wall jump off the left wall, Flash Shift in the air for a stall, and then Grapple. Once you make it to the top, Flash Shift through the open door at the left, then climb up using the Grapple Beam between the Spider Magnet walls to reach the E.M.M.I. Zone exit at the very top left.
This next area has a branching path; to proceed normally you are supposed to take the upper path right above you, but to get through faster you can cross the large watery pool to your immediate left. To get across, you need to use another Water Bomb Jump like you did back in Burenia to get to the ledge at the far left. Drop into the water, go to the left-hand side and perform the sequence for the WBJ, using your extra height to pull yourself up to the area above. Now you have to climb the four vanishing ledges in this area while contending with an X-infected Quetzoa that has become much more aggressive. Take it out with Super Missiles first, then use Spin Jumps and Flash Shifts to navigate the platforms leading to the E.M.M.I. Zone door at the top right corner of the room.
In here, simply head all the way to the right, slide under the low wall to reach the next room, then drop down and head to the right until you can't go any further. Turn left and start running while charging the Speed Booster to head into the Central Unit room.
You should hit Speed Booster velocity shortly after arriving in the area. Store a Shinespark and aim up at the Central Unit, quickly using it to take out the shielding. Once it's gone, spam your Plasma Beam or Super Missiles to take out the Central Unit as quickly as possible. Once it has been defeated, mash past the cutscene and then quickly use your Omega Stream and Cannon to destroy the door. Run all the way to the left, turn and start charging the Speed Booster to leave the room.
As you exit, store your Shinespark and slide under the low wall in front of you. Diagonally Shinespark to the top-right corner of the room and immediately turn and press L to enter Aim Mode and you should just start to see E.M.M.I.-05IM enter from the top-left door. Start firing at its head with the Omega Stream as it starts to climb across the ceiling, then charge up when it reels back and launch a charged shot at its eye to destroy it.
Destroying this E.M.M.I. grants you the Ice Missile upgrade, which will finally give you the power to destroy the Enky fire plants you've seen all over the area. From here, drop down to the floor and take the door to the right, then continue dropping down to reach the exit to this E.M.M.I. Zone.
