- without collecting expansions or parts of expansions of any kind (Energy, Missile, Power Bomb)
Note: starting a run while already in the Axis Skew state is permitted, as well as achieving an Axis Skew state mid-run by loading a save file, achieving the state, and continuing on with your original save file. However, you may not use the Boss Rush mode to achieve an Axis Skew state.

Proceed through the rooms normally.

Once you enter the Melee Tutorial Room, at the top perform Proto EMMI skip and head left.

Perform Early Cloak Pseudo Wave and head to Corpius.
-
Defeat Corpius and obtain the Phantom Cloak.
-
Exit Corpius Arena and proceed through the top Sensor Lock Door.
-
Climb the room, enter the Adam room.
-
Proceed through the rooms normally to the EMMI zone.
-
As you're aproaching EMMI Zone Exit near the red teleporter, slide through it then on the other side coyote jump to avoid a sized portion of slow underwater movement.
-
Enter Waterfall Room.
-
Slide down the slopes and proceed forward through the water.
-
Kill the Dizzeans on the way with Missiles
-
Destroy the Blob in the Water Reservoir room and backtrack to the Waterfall room.
-
Go up through the Map Station back into the middle part of the Water Reservoir room.
-
Enter EMMI Zone.
-
Perform Water Platform Skip in the EMMI Zone Hub into EMMI Zone Exit below.
-
Proceed forwards into the Charge Beam room and collect Charge Beam
-
Circle around the same path as the start into the entrance of Corpius Room
-
Slide cloak through the sensor door. Climb up into Adam room and open the access to jaffe room.
-
Destroy the blocks in the ceiling, slide down, proceed forward normally to the Thermal Device and activate it.
-
Return to Adam room and talk to Adam again.
-
Proceed to the EMMI Zone through the Arbitrary Enky Room.
-
Perform Magus Skip and activate White EMMI
-
As the Thermal Door is opening, shoot the blob at the top, then go through the door.
-
Drop down through the Flipper to the right ledge.
-
As you're going down, open the Access Closed door at the top, then go through the Charge Beam Door
-
Enter the Central Unit room.
-
Destroy the Central Unit armor with 15 missiles, get drops from Rinkas then kill the Brain with 11 missiles.

Exit the Central Unit room and confront White EMMI
-
Escape through the movable Magnet Ceiling into the room with the previously unlocked Access Closed door.
-
Jump to the top of the room with the Magnet Walls, destroy the beam blocks (collect the Missile Tank if you want) and move the Magnet Wall that leads to the Early Cloak room.

Proceed forward through the Thermal Device room into the Lower Path to Cataris.

- Damage Boost off the Plys to skip the moving ceiling magnet.
- Take the Ceiling Magnet and either kill all the Plys in the way or use Phantom Cloak to avoid them.
- Enter Transport to Cataris and take the elevator.
- Get down to the Adam room and talk to Adam.
If you wish to get skew in here
- Save and quit to the menu. Load a different save file with Speedbooster acquired
- Get Bomuhey skew and return to the run file
- Navigate your way to the first emmi door
- skew pseudo if you have skew or seam pseudo wave the blob
Safer RouteAdam Save Skip Route
- Continue the path starting at the sensor door.
- Moving to Kraid's lair entrance then up to the Adam room (Save if you didn't get bomuhey skew before)
- Enter emmi zone
- Continue th path to the area excuting Adam Save Skip
- Done the skip and run across the next two rooms (map and one with an autool).
- Perform Emmi Warp with skew
- Success the counter. Climb up to the emmi quick kill spot. Blast the blob with slide pseudo wave and enter Central Unit room.
- Destroy the Central Unit armor with 15 missiles, get drops from Rinkas then kill the Brain with 11 missiles.
- Defeat Green Emmi to acquire Morph Ball ability.
Safe RouteHell Run
- Navigate your way to activate the red button device on top right to drain the lava.
- Now travel to that area and pull down the magnet wall.
- exiting the area but don't fall off the normal blocks.
- Instead draining the lava, run to the room with a purple recharge station.
- climb up and get a DLC skew.
- 6 dash melee into the right wall. Clip through the wall with map buffer.
- Go to the thermal device. Get a crouch/slide skew to clip into the magnet wall.
- As after the map buffer, bounce off the wall, grab and pull down the magnet wall.
- As soon as the wall is fully pulled, Drop down and morph. Roll under the one tile tunnel.
- Unmorph and jump to the left. Bounce off the wall. Landing on the land and get out.

- Get DLC skew and clip to the right wall. 6 dash melee. Aim back, cancel skew. 360 turnaround and map buffer while holding right.
- Climb up to activate the thermal device.
- Continue the way. Take the transport to Dairon.
- Continue your way to the big room. Entering the room, jump to the wide beam box.
- Morph to cancel pre-turnarounds and facing left.
- Neutral Jump clip into the box. This box is one of the exceptions in dread that has no out of bounds check.
- Jump up to stand on the box. Cancel skew angle and moving into the emmi zone to do varia skip.
- After the skip, navigate to the emmi door above the speedboost puzzle in the emmi zone.
- Update the checkpoint and re-enter the zone. Start to clipping the second emmi tunnel.
- drop down and get a crouch turnaround skew. Clip into the tunnel to maximum distance.
- Crouch. Then time these inputs precise. jump → hold left → morph.
- Successfully clipping into the tunnel. Roll into the next room. Drop and unmorph. Use the ledge to get a ledge skew.
- Continue dash counter until Samus is inside the valve. Unmorph and roll out.
- Now get to the emmi door in the next room. Coyote Jump out of the water pit.
- run to the transport lead towards Burenia.
- Navigate your way to acquire Flash Shift then to the room of water platform lowering normally without losing the Bomuhey skew.
- Diving down the water. Move to the right wall and pseudo beam to kill the jellyfishes in the tiny space below.
- Dive down to the left blob and blast it. Run to the right wall.
- Touch the wall and do some melee pseudo beams to the blob. You should aim towards the corner connecting by the ceiling and the blob. Blasting the second blob and return to the dry land.
- Go the right where a blob is blocking the way to the transport. Get a slightly angle altered skew and slide pseudo beam the blob. Ride the vehicle to kill the yellow Emmi.
- Store a spark and spark up to the ceiling hole.
- Moving till speedboosting to the area you first encounter yellow EMMI in normal.
Heat RoomYellow Teleporter
- Store a shinespark. Flash shift to the middle of the big room and spark down.
- Go to the spot where pit block ceiling exists.
- Do a neutral jump clip with spark. Clipping into the ball tunnel.
- Store a shinespark with perfect skew. Roll down to the underneath and ballspark right just as Samus touch the ground to avoid environment damage.
- Stand in the thin space beside the launcher. Do a crouch turnaround skew facing left.
- Slide left and tap free aim to stand up. Store a shinespark and neutral jump clip with map lag spark to the left.
- Ride the elevator to Artaria.
- Drop down and acquire grapple beam
- Continue speedboosting to the right. Run into the wide beam box.
- Clip through it and begin speedboost to the right.
- Store a shinespark and spark up breaking the speedboost blocks.
- Hold left and mashing A to avoid touching the missle tank.
- Use the yellow teleporter to Artaria.
- Store a shinespark with skew. ssc/adc down the platform.
- move to the left room. Climb up and start speedboosting to break the speedboost wall blocks a emmi door.
- spark up and continue moving to acquire grapple beam.
- Navigate to the red telepoter and return to Cataris.
- Make a turn from red telepoter to Kraid's lair entrance then to the area above. Slide into the heat area.
- Quickly move to the orange teleporter. Entering Ghavoran.
- Arriving to Ghavoran, do a neutral jump clip with spark to the speedboost puzzle on the right.
You can either clip through the energy part or clip a 7 tile distance.
- After the clip, stand on the speedboost floor and get a perfect skew. Start speedboosting and try to store the shinespark right as breaking the floor.
- Moving to the right platform with a globber, shinespark it and flash to door above golzuna's entrance.
- Do two mini tornado clips for this door and another door in the next room.
- Open the doors to save time in the revisit later. Take the ride to Hanubia.
- Reaching to Hanubia, run to the adam room.
- Mini tornado clipping the door on the top right. Then Neutral jump clip the second door on top of the speedboost puzzle.
- Activate the "metroid power awaken" cutsence.
- Get crouch/slide skew to clip the door on the left.
- Enter the left room. Destroy the grapple block to avoid accidental pump when clipping.
- Get a crouch skew clip and do one melee cloak melee.
- Store a shinespark. Cancel the skew, charge a bottom-left shinespark and buffer it.
- Shinespark to the room with 2 Shakernaut. Continue moving and enter the elevator to Ferenia.
- Falling off the pit block floor. Counter the Chozo Zombie and start speedboosting from the wave cover.
- Entering the freezer room while destroying the Autectors to recover energy.
- Store the shinespark and aim down clip on the screw block floor. You must success this first time or not enough energy is to tank it.
- Quickly exit the room and travel to the bottom of cyan tp room.
- Touch the emmi door if you want to play save Do a crouch/slide turnaround skew to clip into the left wall. Do 1 cloak melee.
- Store a shinespark. Cancel skew. Hold aim and tap B to jump.
- When Samus is near falling to touch the ground, Hold B and pause with +.
- Holding the direction to bottom-left. Map buffer the aim spark.
- Touch the emmi door if you want to play save Do a crouch/slide turnaround skew to clip into the left wall. Do 1 cloak melee.
- Hold aim and tap B to jump.
- When Samus is close to the ground pause with +. The correct height is a bit more precise than with the sparking method. If you zoom in on Samus on the map, the cursor should slightly touch the ground.
- Hold the direction to top-left, shoot grapple beam, and use one map buffer.
- Chain a second map buffer while not holding any direction
- Clipping into the fan speedboost puzzle room and ride the elevator back to Dairon.
- Exiting the elevator. Do a crouch skew to clip the left.
- Once samus is deep enough. Phantom slip into the platform under.
- Navigate your way to the wide beam box stick next to the emmi door. Clip through it.
- Run right and charge the speedboost to spark up in the yellow tp room. Ride the train to the Cataris.
- Returning to Cataris, run and slide down to the wide beam box that blocks the way into emmi zone.
- clip through it with crouch/slide skew and navigate to the orange tp.
- Entering Ghavoran, repeat the steps in the first arrival and travel back to Hanubia.
- Clip the doors on the top right in adam room and above speedboost puzzle again.
- Go into the emmi zone. Clip the wall in front.
- Move to the tunnel that can be destroyed by power bomb. SSC/ADC down and ADC to the room with autools.
- Run to the emmi door to refresh checkpoint.
- Store a shinespark and perform ADC on the soft collision just at left side of the recharge station.
- Clipping through the floor. Once again charge a shinespark and aim down clip through the power bomb floor.
the block floors in the escape passage have a short horizontal distance that makes aim down clip with neutral grapple much easier to fail and die. It is best to first clip with an angle, then buffer the grapple to aim upwards
- Dropping down to a seemingly two tile no collision but it will instantly kill Samus when contacting deep enough. Morph and slowly roll into. When a portion of Samus is in it. Unmorph, turnaround and do a melee buffer grapple.
- Continue clipping the next screw floors.
- Get a DLC skew. Charge and spark through the two tile power bomb wall.
- Again get a DLC skew. Continue clipping to the end. Each time charge a speedboost. Map lag with + to unpause and tap B to jump in order to keep the skew angle.
- Do 7 dash melee to the right wall. Crouch and charge a standing speedboost, do a map lag before the activation.
- Aim back, cancel skew, holding free aim and tap B to jump. When Samus is at the middle height, Hold B and + pause to prepare a map lag aim spark.
- Release aim and B. Hold top right. Buffer the spark.
- Kill raven beak X and begin the escape sequence.
- As soon as samus is controllable, start charging the speedboost and spark up.
- Aim back and flash. Jump up to the slope and jump again during sliding. Flash to the platform above.
- Do a crouch skew clip and grapple through the wall.
- Next, do another crouch skew clip with 2 melee cloak melee to the left wall.
- Charge a shinespark when samus is deep enough. Aim backward, cancel the skew, jump with holding aim, pressing B the shinespark and + pause. Release B and free aim. Flick the stick to bottom-left and buffer the spark with map lag.
- After the spark, again do some crouch skews for the next two walls.
- The first can be clip through with shinespark or grappling.
- Second needs samus to clip in the maximum distance, then charge a shinespark, buffer a top-left spark.
- Successfully clipping through, do a crouch/slide skew to clip the left wall. Do only one melee cloak melee otherwise Samus will spark to the underneath of the two tiles power bomb wall.
- Once the shinespark is charged, cancel skew and pause buffer the jump to let samus spark on the maximum height. Buffer the spark and clipping into the small space. Time for screw skip ceiling clip
- Get a DLC skew
- Dash melee four times into the right wall and store a shinespark
- Jump and almost immediately pause. Check if samus' height is possible to clip by either at the middle height (frame 1) or slightly above (frame 2)
- release free aim andbuffer a grapple beam with direction of top-right also perform a map lag by tap B to unpause and pressing + to pause again
- continue holding grapple, flick the stick to top-left, do a map lag this time with holding B to unpause and pausing with -
- Hold free aim, press - to unpause follow up with B and a slightly behind + to pause
- Release free aim. Hold the direction to top-left. 3 Map buffers to buffer the spark. (If Samus jumped at frame 2, you can change the direction to straight up for some distance save)
- Successfully spark to the platform with sucker, clip into the right wall, store a spark and spark top-right. Map buffer is also required
- Continuing the escape. Clip the two tile power bomb wall to the next room.
- Neutral Jump Clip or Hobbit Skew clipping the right wall. Store a spark. Cancel the skew and jump to the maxium height. charge the spark and map buffer it.
- Climb up and begin to do the power bomb skip ceiling skip.
- Do a DLC skew
- Charge a speedboost and jump to the right wall next to the recharge station. Store the spark and do three dash melee
- hold free aim and jump with pause followed. Check Samus position is on either frame 1 or frame 2 (both works)
- Release free aim. Hold top right and shoot a buffered grapple beam. Do a map buffer
- Do another map buffer to the left
Noted this two map buffer were unpause with holding B and repause with +
- Let go off the grapple beam. Do another map buffer to the left. This time unpause with + and repuase with -
- Hold free aim. Press - to unpause follow up with B and a slightly behind + to pause.
- Release free aim. Hold the direction to top left. Then do three map buffers to buffer the spark.
- Succeed the clip. Get a crouch/slide skew. Clip into the wall with one melee cloak melee. Store a shinespark, cancel the skew and Jump to the maximum height. Charge your spark and hold the direction. Map buffer the spark to clip into the top of the emmi zone.
- Once clipped into, flash to the emmi door and reload the checkpoint. The countdown timer will reset and you respawn at the emmi door
- Continue the normal escape route to the floor with bomb blocks.
- Clip through the one tile wall and the sealed door right outside the emmi zone. When clipping through the door with crouch skew. Charge a speedboost.
- Storing the spark and ssc/adc on the platform with wave cover door down to the area with the unseal door.
- Enter Adam room. Again Get a crouch/slide skew. Clip through the left door and start charging Speedbooster for another shinespark.
- Store the spark. Spark upward at almost touching the hole of the long tunnel to avoid out of bounds death if you haven't died once in Hanubia.
- Go to the hyper beam door and clip through with crouch/slide skew. Complete the rest of the escape and end the run.
In game patch 1.0.2 or before, getting invincibility glitch with the tunnel trap that blocks the whole tunnel when samus slide through it located at the left room of yellow teleporter with magnet surface. Completely making a new route and downs the item collection to 3 (grapple beam,speedboost and flash shift)
Start the run by getting bomuhey skew in another file. Then loading your run file.
- Navigate to the pseudo blob before Corpius.
- Use skewed pseudo wave to blast the blob. Instead going for Corpius, run into the emmi zone.
- Slide or melee at near contacting with the emmi zone.
- Jump to the top and drop down to trigger white emmi.
- Exit the emmi zone and proceed normally.
- Entering the room with magnet suface. Get a slightly right facing skew. Slide into the tunnel and visually eat by the trap. You now get invincibility state.
- Continue the path to the exit room. Coyote jump up to the top platform.
- Lure white emmi to follow Samus. Leading it to the right wall in the top part of the big room.
- Aim for the timing when white emmi climbs up to the ledge. Jump at the max height. Melee wall jump out and holding aim towards the right. Grabbing on the ledge.
- Move to the speedboost walls blocking the path to grapple beam. Neutral jump clip those two walls.
- Climb up and follow the path to acquire grapple beam.
- Reload checkpoint to unload the wide beam cover in order to succeed the clip to yellow teleporter
- Enter back into the emmi zone. Get mini tornado skews and use your newly obtained grapple beam to clip through the speedboost blocks.
- Go to the backdoor of yellow teleporter. Neutral jump clip into the door. Use the teleporter to enter Dairon.
- Right as Samus finished the animation. Get a DLC skew and clip the right wall with 6 dash melees. Cancel the skew. Turn around to face forward. Map pause. Holding right and map buffer.
- Dropping down and continue to the wide beam box in the big room.
- Neutral jump clip into the box and jump on the box.
- Platforming into the emmi zone and perform varia skip.
- Finishing the skip, navigate to the missile tank in the room with 2 ball launchers.
- Get a DLC skew and clip into the wall with 4 dash melee. Phantom slip into the under part
- Enter emmi zone. Refresh a new checkpoint in the next room and run down.
- Crouch/slide skew. I have stabilized it. Melee 13 times, squat down, press L, jump until the edge of Samus' visor meets the corner.
- Hold left until Samus' visor fills up a little bit, and when you get to the right spot, do the map buffer twice while grappling with the stick neutral.
- Successfully clipping into the tunnel. Cancel the skew and slide to the left.
- Get a crouch skew. Do 4 dash melees and phantom slip down.
- Run right to defeat Central Unit and yellow emmi to acquire speedbooster.
- Charge the speedboost and run to the missile tank+ speedboost puzzle on the right.
- When you jump up to the top platform with a dredhed. Store the booster.
- Destroy the speed blocks, jump over the missile tank+, and use a left side clip to clip the wall on the left.
- Make your way to yellow tp. On the way there you will need to clip twice. The charge beam door can be clipped by getting a perfect skew, pulling yourself up to the magnet ceiling twice, and then using this angle to clip the door with grapple beam. The wide beam block can be clipped with a neutral jump clip in combination with a map lag spark.
- Spark over the missile pack right in front of yellow tp to avoid it.
- Use neutral jump clip with a map lag spark to escape to clip out of yellow tp to the top right.
- Go past red tp to the flipper and perform flipper clip.
- Open the grapple block with a pseudo grapple shot and use the ledge drop setup to spark through the morph tunnel
- Use a neutral jump clip with spark to clip the wall next to blue tp and use another regular neutral jump clip to clip into the door on the left.
- Use the elevator to Burenia
- Now that ZDR is frozen directly return to Artaria.
- Get a DLC skew to clip through the long morph tunnel at the bottom of the room and use a neutral jump clip to map lag spark out of the room after that
- Keep going the regular way through frozen Artaria and clip the next morph tunnel with DLC skew again
- In the room where the melee tutorial takes place go all the way up to the save station and neutral jump clip into the save station room.
- Neutral jump clip into the adam room and use left side clip to go through the thermal door.
- Go to the elevator to Dairon and neutral jump clip the frozen emmi doors on the way there. Speed boost into the slope right before the elevator to make this part easier without having spider magnet.
- To clip the first door get a perfect skew jump up and grapple to the ceiling magnet at the apex of your jump. Use this angle to clip the door on the left with a map lag spark. You can not use the grapple beam here because the wall on the other side is too close to the door and the grapple beam will hit it.
- Destroy the grapple block and use the ledge drop setup to spark through the tunnel where the grapple block was.
- Make use of left side clip to spark through the long tunnel. Once you are close to the missile pack use map lag to spark past it.
- To exit the room left side clip the wall on the left and mag lag spark up left.
- Do a couple of more left side clips to go past the adam room until you reach the wall below the emmi door.
- Clip partially into the wall jump and map lag spark straight up to reach to emmi door. Be careful to not get hit by the sawblade enemy while clipping.
- Go to the room with the storm missile block and the missile tank + on the bottom left. Use neutral jump clip to go through emmi doors on the way.
- Left side clip the wall on the left and map lag spark through it.
- Continue to the elevator to Burenia. Use another left side clip to get past that one wall that is in your way.
- Ariving in Burenia make your way to the big room with the gate to upper Burenia, using speed booster to get past the fan.
- On the bottom left of this room phantom slip into the room below.
- Slide over the ice into the morph tunnel and use the ledge drop setup to clip past the next morph ball tunnel
- Navigate to the next save station. You might want to save here because the is a chance of softlocking in the upcoming boss fight. Otherwise just charge a speed boost and spark into the flash shift room to aquire flash shift.
- Left side clip out of the flash shift room through the bottom door.
- Do mini tornados twice to enter the bot fight arena
- Start setting up a neutral jump clip on the right of the middle platform. Once you got the angle and stored a shine spark jump to the right. This will close the shutter doors and the bots will enter the arena. You have to nail the neutral jump clip spark past the shutter door on the first try. Otherwise the bots will not give you enough time to set it up again.
- After successfulling clipping out of the fight the door will automatically open again and you need to do another neutral jump clip spark.
- Before you can take the elevator to Artaria again you need to shine sink once through the screw attack blocks. Be careful with this sink since there is not a lot of space to shoot the grapple beam.
- Once you arrive in Artaria shine sink through the screw blocks on the left of the screw attack room.
- Continue through frozen Artaria the same way as the first time you went through there until you reach the second adam room.
- Instead of entering the adam room shine spark over the missile pack on the right.
- Go up to the charge beam door and grapple up to the ceiling magnet twice in perfect skew to get a fast clip angle.
- Navigate to the Cataris elevator
- Go directly to right to neutral jump clip the frozen door.
- Continue to the blue tp room and use the lava to get a clip angle to spark through the wall.
- Destroy the blob and clip the ceiling on the top right with dlc skew. Because of the tilted ceiling you can spark straight up, but be careful to not jump to high or you will die. With correct spacing the spark does not require the use of map lag, but it is recommended just to be on the save side.
- Move left and spark up the room with the (still deactivated) moving magnets to clip the charge beam door with left side clip.
- Continue to go to the emmi zone past the save room and shine sink past the termal gate. Alternatively you can just left side clip the wall in the middle.
- Exit the emmi zone again by entering the adam skip room.
- Keep moving left in the direction of the adam room on the top left.
- Instead of entering the adam room, shoot the blob and enter the orange tp room.
- Map lag spark through the wall above the grapple block and destroy it from the other side.
- Leave the room on the bottom left and enter the emmi zone to the bottom right.
- Go through the shutter door and the cloak door to detroy the blob and exit the emmi zone again.
- Move through the hell run room (which is not a hell run at that point).
- Entering the next room most of the room will be black however you can still see Samus and the enemies. With the help of the mini map navigate to the bottom right of the room at start a speed boost to the left. Make sure to store in time and then spin jump into the z-57 fight.
- Shine spark as soon as possible to instantly kill z-57.
- Shine sink through the termal gate on the right to exit the fight.
- Use the dlc setup to clip the 2-tile wall in the next room.
- Climb up that room until you are next to the morph ball launcher tunnel. Use one left side clip spark to clip into the tunnel and one more left side clip with a map lag spark to get out again. For left side clips inside tight spaces like that you want to reset you angle facing right, crouch, turn around once, now facing left, stand up and jump to get the correct clip angle.
- Charge a speed boost and do a diagonal spark along the magnet rail.
- Go towards the emmi zone and then go straight up and right where you destroyed the blob earlier. Be aware that the green emmi is now active.
- Move through the adam skip room and take the same path you did earlier to reach orange tp.
- Same as current patch route
- Same as current patch route. Only difference is that you need to shine sink instead of destroying the grapple block in the room before the elevator.
- Same as current patch route
- Same as current patch route with addition of clipping the charge beam door right after the normal first encounter with yellow emmi.
- Use magnet skew to clip the door. Before canceling the skew, store a shinespark. Clip into the next room. Jump and spark to the right to save some time.
- Same as current patch route until you the map room. After that just keep going left to enter the orange tp room from above like you did before.
- Same strategies till neutral jump clip to the no out of bounds check door.
- Store a shinespark and perform adc to the wall connecting a floor of bomb blocks.
- Slide left without mantle up and die. Move to the right wall
- Get a DLC skew and use map buffer spark to clip throught the wall. Get another DLC skew. Jump at a middle height before the spark clip.
- Then much same as the current route.
- Same as the current patch route with a change.
- When entering the Central Unit room, do a crouch/slide skew to the left. Charge a shinespark, store it, jump and map buffer a top-left spark. Ending at the right part of the bomb blocks floor area.
