- December 30: An audit of the turbo runs verified from mid-November 2022 to mid-June 2023 was completed.
- September 19: Hyper Missile, FreeSink, and Survival Rush runs were given community-managed spreadsheets in lieu of leaderboard representation.
- June 16: By a vote of community managers, turbo missile weaving was banned from all merged leaderboards (this begins the third turbo period).
- June 1: Time-based thresholds for video proof were added to the leaderboard system. See this page for more information.
- June 1: Any% Unrestricted Pre-Skew runs were separated out into their own leaderboard, called "Any% UR Multi-File".
- May 5: The Max% Kraid Glitchless category was added to the Category Extensions leaderboard.
- April 17: By community vote, Rookie, Normal, and Hard difficulties were separated, reversing the April 21, 2022 decision.
- March 3: Pre-Skew was legalized on all Unrestricted leaderboards. The Boss Rush leaderboard was split into Unrestricted and No Major Glitches leaderboards as a side effect of this.
- January 16: The All Bosses No Major Glitches category was added to the main leaderboard.
- November 29: An audit of the turbo runs verified from August to mid-November 2022 was completed.
- August 15: By community vote, the merged leaderboard turbo speed cap was changed from 21Hz to 13Hz (this begins the second turbo period).
- July 6: The Minimum Bosses category was added to the Category Extensions leaderboard.
- June 10: The bootcamp system was added to the community.
- June 9: The Category Extensions leaderboard was added to the Metroid Dread leaderboard collection.
- June 4: The ruleset for No Major Glitches was updated to the definition described here, declaring Short Boosting and Ledge Warping to be minor glitches.
- May 23: By community vote, No Major Glitches was not renamed to Restricted Glitches, and the decision to not merge the No Major Glitches and Unrestricted rulesets was reaffirmed with a second vote.
- April 22: The Boss Rush category was added to the main leaderboard.
- April 21: By community vote, Rookie, Normal, and Hard difficulties were merged together.
- February 10: Rookie and Dread Mode difficulties were added to the main leaderboard.
- January 6: By admin decree, turbo was declared to be allowed and the leaderboard turbo speed cap was set to 21Hz (this begins the first turbo period).
- November 25: Runs were declared to be allowed on any version of the game, the version display requirement was abolished, the Legacy category was added to the leaderboard, and the video submission thresholds were changed.
- November 5: Runs were declared to be allowed only on version 1.0.2.
- November 4: By community vote, timing was declared to start when selecting "Continue".
- October 30: The submission uniqueness rule was enacted, the All Bosses route was added to the main leaderboard.
- October 28: By community vote, the following was declared: No Major Glitches category added, Pseudo Wave, Water Bomb Jumping, Early Screw Attack, Boss Skipping, and E.M.M.I. Skipping declared "minor" glitches, Ledge Warping and Shine Sink Clipping declared "major" glitches.
- October 25: The video submission thresholds were changed.
- October 21: The version display requirement was enacted.
- October 15: The leaderboards were opened, the end screen requirement was enacted.
